SayItPerfect

Questions, answered honestly.

Everything we get asked. If something's not here, just email hello@sayitperfect.org.

Is this really written by AI?

Yes — and we're not going to pretend otherwise. Your speech is generated by a large language model (the same kind that powers tools like ChatGPT and Claude) trained on great writing. What makes it sound like you is the prompt we built around the model and the specifics you give us. We've spent months refining the prompt so the output reads like a real human wrote it, not a corporate Hallmark card.

Will my speech sound generic?

Only if your answers are generic. The AI works from what you tell it — the specific story you share, the qualities you actually love about the person, the tone you pick. If you write "she's the best" we'll have to work with that. If you write "she laughs at her own jokes before the punchline lands and texts me memes at 3am because she can't sleep," we have something to build with. The richer your inputs, the more "yours" the output sounds. This is true for vows, toasts, eulogies, and obituaries alike.

How fast do I get it?

Less than an hour from payment to inbox — and almost always much faster. Your draft is written, formatted into a PDF (Standard and Premium), and emailed to you automatically the moment your payment goes through. We promise "within an hour" because we want to be honest about the rare case something hiccups, but most orders land in your inbox quickly.

Can I edit what you send me?

Of course — it's yours. Treat the draft as a starting point if you want to. Swap a word, cut a line, add a sentence about something deeply personal that didn't make it into the form. Most customers use the draft 90% as-is; some keep one paragraph and rewrite the rest. Either is fine. The goal is to give you something you'd never have started with on your own.

What if I'm not happy with it?

Reply to your delivery email and tell us what's off. We'll either send you a revised draft or refund you — we don't believe in fighting customers over wedding speeches. Refunds need to be requested within 48 hours of purchase (see our Terms). If your wedding is tomorrow and you're stressed, just write back and we'll help.

Is my information private?

Yes. The personal details you share in the form go straight to the AI to generate your speech and into your delivery email — that's it. We don't sell your information. We don't share your stories with anyone. We don't use what you write to train any models. After 90 days, we delete your order details from our systems entirely.

Can I use this for a religious ceremony or memorial?

Yes. In the "audience" or "tone" field, mention that it's a religious ceremony (and which faith, if you'd like). The AI will calibrate the language, references, and tone accordingly. Our customers have used SayItPerfect for Catholic, Jewish, Hindu, Muslim, and non-denominational weddings, funerals, and memorials. Just tell us, and it'll fit the moment.

Does it work for same-sex weddings?

Of course. The form doesn't assume any gender — you just type your partner's name and your own. The AI follows whatever pronouns and names you give it.

What's the difference between the three packages?

Starter ($8.99) gives you one polished draft (~150 words) — perfect if you know exactly what you want to say and just need help putting it into words. Standard ($18.99) gives you a main draft (~300 words) plus two alternate openings and two alternate closings, so you can mix and match. It also comes as a printable PDF. Premium ($29.99) gives you three complete drafts in three different tones (heartfelt, with humor, poetic for vows; funny-with-heart, sincere, story-driven for toasts), plus a one-page Delivery Guide with pacing notes and tips for the moment your voice catches.

Will the AI invent things that didn't happen?

No. We've built explicit "grounding rules" into the AI's instructions: it can only use the details YOU provide. It won't invent restaurants, road trips, conversations, or stories that didn't happen. If you tell it about a specific memory, it builds the speech around that. If you don't share a memory, it stays more abstract rather than fabricating one. This was a deliberate design choice — we'd rather give you a slightly shorter, real speech than a longer, made-up one.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover) and Apple Pay, processed securely through Lemon Squeezy. We never see or store your card details.

My wedding (or service) is in 2 days. Can you help?

That's literally what we're for. Your draft arrives in less than an hour, often much sooner — whether it's a wedding vow, a best man speech, or a eulogy you need by morning. If something goes wrong, reply to the order email and we'll make it right immediately.

Can I use this for a eulogy or obituary?

Yes. We added eulogies and obituaries as a dedicated third category alongside wedding vows and toasts — same pricing, same three-tier structure (Starter $8.99 / Standard $18.99 / Premium $29.99). The form asks for the deceased's full name, surviving family, what they did with their life, and the qualities that defined them. Premium for obituaries includes three versions in different lengths and tones (newspaper, online memorial, faith-based) plus photo caption suggestions and memorial donation language.

Will the AI invent details about my loved one?

No — and this matters more for eulogies and obituaries than anything else we do, so we've built extra-strict grounding rules for this category. The AI is explicitly instructed to never invent ages, dates, family member names, places, jobs, or accomplishments. If a field is blank, the AI is told to work around the gap rather than guess. For obituaries especially, where families read every word looking for accuracy, this is non-negotiable. We'd rather give you a slightly shorter, true draft than a longer one with anything made up.

What if I'm grieving and the long form feels overwhelming?

The eulogy/obituary form has only three required fields: your name, the deceased's name, and what qualities defined them. Everything else is optional. The more you tell us the more personal the draft will be — but a sparse draft is far better than a fabricated one, and our AI is trained to stay general rather than invent. Take whatever time you have. Even five minutes is enough to get a real starting point.
